you have an event that is open to the public and ought to be listed,
please send an e-mail to our webmaster

Publications
We
intend to develop an annotated bibliography of published and unpublished
works relating to the history of this area. We're going to be somewhat
selective and not include works that are not pretty closely focused
on Warren County or places of significance to our efforts. It will
take some time, and we particularly welcome suggestions. If you
know
a librarian or teacher who might help us, that would be especially
valuable.
Some of the material here is available for download
as a PDF file from this site,
and
we suspect,
ultimately
we'll see some e-books here. The standard sources (Snell's History
of Sussex and Warren County and Cummins' History of Warren County,
New Jersey)
will be listed, of course, but more obscure works such as Jennie Love's
Centennial Celebration of the Presbyterian Church of Harmony, New
Jersey (1908). Where we can, we'll try to mention local libraries
where you can find these works.
Washington-Rochambeau campaign
The
Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route In The State of New Jersey,
1781-1783: An Historical and Architectural Survey, by historian
Robert A. Selig, Ph. D. The survey is an in depth and detailed study
of military
marches through the State of New Jersey during the American Revolutionary
War of both French Army troops and Continental Army troops in 1781-1783
in route to the defeat of the British Army and General Cornwallis at
the Battle of Yorktown, Virginia, October 19, 1781, and their return
journey north. The study is available for download as three large PDF files.
The
New Jersey study identifies the land
and river routes that General Washington’s Continental Army and
the comte de Rochambeau’s French forces took through New Jersey
in August and September of 1781 on their way to Yorktown, and identifies
associated sites and resources along those routes. The study develops
recommendations for interpretation of these sites and resources and
lays the foundation needed to begin the research for nominating identified
sites to the National Register of Historic Places.
Vought house
A link to a website and a PDF file available for download, detailing
the archeological investigation of the 1759 German farm house
in Clinton Township.
